Home décor maker Pendulux has added industry veteran Steven Yarbrough as creative director and launched its first collection with him last month.

Yarbrough brings close to three decades of experience to this new role, and most recently served as creative director for Studio A Home, part of the Global Views family of brands.

Yarbrough said the decision to move onto this new venture with Pendulux sprang from wanting a new challenge and build the five-year-old brand up. “I saw in this opportunity to join Pendulux to use my years of experience as a designer and product developer. It’s not every day one gets the chance to be a part of building and expanding a company into a total home provider,” Yarbrough said. “Pendulux was already a little gem in the industry and had a solid message in their product which was rooted in history, I love history. I draw inspiration from my travels, from architecture, heritage and historical moments around the world.”

While he’s all in on this new venture, Yarbrough said he left the Global Views family with plenty of good feelings. “Studio A and Global Views were my home and my passion for over a decade, and I hold the brands and the people very close to my heart. But it was time to move on to something new, and I saw in Pendulux my next challenge,” said Yarbrough. “I love the Pendulux look and I feel I can take the brand to the next level, respecting its heritage and yet bringing new products that will touch people and become the highlight of their homes.”

Yarbrough’s first collection for Pendulux features more than 20 pieces, spanning lighting, furniture, mirrors, wall décor and home accessories. He said development is perhaps his favorite part of the creative process.“One of the greatest things about designing home furnishings is being in the trenches, going to the factories, working and meeting the artisans who produce the products, solving issues when they arise and most importantly being a partner with the vendor to grow business together,” he said.

Pendulux CEO Ricardo Amaro noted that the company is pleased to have a designer of Yarbrough’s caliber on its team. “Pendulux is privileged to have Steven Yarbrough,” said Amaro. “Steven recognizes the value of the team and what was built so far, and I am confident he will make his mark at Pendulux and will lead the future of our business.”
